Stříhání ovcí v Tusheti, Girevi

Jak jsem už prozradil, zúčastnil jsem se jako fotograf projektu Czech Development Agency a Caritas Czech Republic in Georgia, v hornatém kraji Gruzie, v Tusheti.

Projekt měl za cíl naučit místní farmáře a pastýře používat moderní techniku při stříhání ovcí. Lektorkou byla Stefanie Kauschus, žena která se stříháním ovcí a výukou živí po celém světe. A také je autorkou knihy. První dva dny jsme strávili ve vesnici Girevi, další  v Chigho. Program byl na obou místech podobný, naučit se důležité části nástrojů, jejich sestavení, nastavení, údržbu a následně samotné stříhání.

As I have already revealed, I participated as a photographer at the joint project of the Czech Development Agency and Caritas Czech Republic in Georgia in Tusheti.

Aim of the project was to teach local farmers and shepherds modern sheep shearing techniques. The lecturer was Stefanie Kauschus, a woman who earns her living by sheep shearing and by teaching it all around the world. And she wrote a book about it too. The first two days we have spent in the village “Girevi”, another in “Chigo”. The program was similar in both places – learning about important parts of the tools, assembling them, setting them up, their maintenance and then finally the shearing itself.
